UNAVAILABLE
For the 2026 Super Bowl, we enlisted Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone to tell a cautionary tale of the consequences of not getting your domain name.
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos at Superprime, the films were shot over two days at Warner Brothers Leavesden. Unavailable: A Requiem of Unrepentant Anguish and A Message from Emma Stone were captured on black and white 35mm film with the sole intention of making the most pretentious Criterian-esque art house film possible. While our third film, a mock behind-the-scenes piece entitled The Negotiation, was shot on digital on the WB lot.
The set build was a sprawling brutalist living room that was 100% practically built by Oscar-winning production designer James Price, who also constructed a miniature for the exteriors. And yes, Emma did actually break dozens of old laptops, and, yes, we did actually set many aflame (with the batteries removed of course).
Cinematography was masterfully helmed by Robbie Ryan who primarily shot on an Arri LT 35mm camera with Panavision Primo lenses. He opted for a very low ASA Kodak 2302 stock which required a ton of light to give us this look.
Our VFX partner One of Us brought the miniature to life using footage captured on the English shorelines by VFX Supervisor Adam Azmy, which can also be seen in the set’s windows and skylights.
Unavailable was cut by the incomparable Tom Lindsay at Trim NY, with Alex Morales taking point on the other two films. Color was honed by Greg Fisher at Company 3 London, who also oversaw finishing. Sound design was done by Oscar-winner Johnnie burn and mixed by Austin Ferreria at Wave Studios NY. Music was composed by Jerskin Fendrix. And, of course, photography was captured by Squarespace’s in-house photographer Craig Reynolds.
Working with Yorgos’s feature team was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I won’t soon forget. It reminds me that the best work is made when people trust each other and genuinely enjoy working together.
You can also see a fun behind-the-scenes video below shot by Squarespace’s own Alejandro Miyashiro.
